A young man vent his anger on his friend for refusing to pay him back N500 and used a machete to hack him to death.
The incident happened in Badagry, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
The 25-year old man, Anuoluwapo Samuel, has been arrested and arraigned before Yaba Magistrate’s court for alleged.
The remorseful Samuel who is now in prison custody, was alleged to have used a machete to inflict injury on John’s right hand.
The incident happened at Okoafo Secondary School, Okoafo, in Badagry Local Government Area where they attended a party.
The victim, Imenvbore John, bled profusely and before he was taken to a hospital, he died on the way.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the cause of the fight was over N500 John owed Samuel. Samuel reportedly demanded for his money from John at the event. And when his friend could not pay him, it resulted in a fight.
During the fight, Samuel reportedly took a machete and hacked John.
He was arrested by the police and the matter was transferred to SCID, Panti, Yaba.
After investigation, Samuel was charged with murder before the presiding magistrate, Mr. O. S. Aka Bashorun. When the matter came up at the court, his plea was taken.
The court adjourned the matter till 15 August and referred the matter to DPP for advice.
