Mumbai police's anti-narcotics cell (ANC) arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly possessing the banned drug amphetamine with the intention to sell it, police said here Friday.
Identified as Izee Obaasi Christofer, 34, the Nigerian was
arrested after ANC officials laid a trap late Thursday in Matunga in central Mumbai.
Around 14 kg of amphetamine was seized from him, an official said.
Police are trying to find out details about the alleged buyer of the drug and who delivered it to Christopher.
The value of the seized drug in the international market is about Rs.14 crore.
Last month, a South African woman, Lucky Herman, was arrested with 18 kg of amphetamine at the Mumbai International Airport by the customs department.
