More than 100 million people will die by 2030 if the current climate change and carbon crisis is not tackled a report by DARA's Climate Vulnerability Monitor has suggested.

The report calculated the human and economic impact of climate change on 184 countries in 2010 and 2030.

"A combined climate-carbon crisis is estimated to claim 100 million lives between
now and the end of the next decade," the report said.

5 million people die every year as a result of climate change and the impacts of fossil-fuel exploitation and that toll would likely rise to 6 million a year by 2030.

More than 90% of those deaths will occur in developing countries. Even the global economic growth will also be cut by 3.2% of gross domestic product.

Global temperature is on continuous rise due to greenhouse gas emissions and the adverse effect of it is seen worldwide.

Melting ice caps, extreme weather, drought and rising sea levels are threatening population.

Climate Vulnerable Monitor is a partnership of 20 developing countries.
