Britney Spears is set to face her self-proclaimed former manager, Sam Lutfi next week, who filed a massive lawsuit against the singer's family in 2009 for defamation, breach of contract and unpaid management fees.

He claimed that Spears' parents "began a campaign of slander, libel and defamation aimed at discrediting, destroying and physically and emotionally intimidating Lutfi in
order to drive him out of Britney's life."

However, not only does the pop singer deny that Lutfi has ever managed her, she won't even be able to testify during the trial.

According to documents obtained by Radar Online, Spears' conservators are arguing that she is not mentally competent to defend herself, the New York Post reported.

The defense's opening statement allegedly reads: "This case was filed by Plaintiff Sam Lutfi against Defendants Lynne Irene Spears, James Parnell Spears, and their daughter BritneyJean Spears in February 2009. In 2008, the Los Angeles Superior Court ordered that a conservatorship be established for Britney. The conservatorship continues to the present; thus, she is under the supervision and control of the court. As a conservatee, Britney is not allowed by law to defend herself. The court has directed her to be defended by her two Co-Conservators, Andrew Wallet and Mr. Spears."
