Workers of Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, this morning jubilated over the resignation of Minister of Power, Barth Nnaji.

Source learnt that the celebration followed a directive issued by the
umbrella union of the PHCN staff, the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, that all staff of PHCN nationwide should observe a 30-minute thanksgiving before the commencement of today's work as a sign of victory.

When source called at the Alausa head office of PHCN in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, the staffers led by Comrade Mbang Ntukubes, Vice President, NUEE, Lagos and Ogun Zone, Comrade Chris Onomeh, National Auditor NUEE and Comrade Christopher Oluwaranti Abodunde, State Financial Secretary, Lagos State NUEE, the workers were seen offering thanksgiving and prayers.

During the prayer session, the staffers carried a mock coffin and photograph of Nnaji which they later destroyed after the 30 minutes session.

Speaking with source after the celebration, Comrade Ntukubes said that Nnaji's resignation is a celebration of truth over falsehood and that "the resignation is not the end to our agitation. Nnaji should also be prosecuted for all the funds he has allegedly stolen from PHCN."

He said apart from Nnaji, the Director General of BPE, Bolanle Onagoruwa should be sacked along with other supporters of Nnaji because the privatization of the PHCN is done with selfish interest.

Comrade Chris Onomeh also called on President Goodluck Jonathan to dissolve all the committees formed during Nnaji's tenure because they are not serving the interest of the masses.
