US-based software mammoth Microsoft revealed a new corporate logo of the company for the first time n last 25 years.

The new logo is a square containing four separate colour squares and has been designed as to express Microsoft?s rich product portfolio.

Though, the old logo of the company was somewhat similar to the new one but the squares appeared deformed waving in the wind.

"The wave of new releases is not only a re-imagining of most popular products, but also represents a new era for Microsoft, so the logo should evolve to visually accentuate this new beginning", said Jeff Hansen, brand strategy manager, Microsoft.

"The symbol is important in a world of digital motion," News.com.au quoted Hanse, as saying.

"The symbol's squares of color are intended to express the company's diverse portfolio of products. It will sign off all of our television ads globally," he added.

The new logo contains the name Microsoft in the Segoe font, which is used in products and marketing communications, along with the new squares as per reports.
