There was a strong indication on Friday in Abuja that the Police Special task force handling the
Otedola and Farouk Lawan’s $620, 000 bribery scandal has concluded its investigation and submitted its final report to the Attorney-General of the federation.

Relatively, source reliably gathered that Hon. Farouk Lawan who has been accused of collecting the said amount from Otedola would be facing 15 count charge of conspiracy, bribery, corruption, and lying under oath among other charges.

It was gathered that going by what is on paper at the moment, and as recommended in the report, Chief Femi Otedola who gave the bribe
might be a prosecution witness
in the court.

It was gathered that going by the report, it will be difficult for Farouk Lawan and his accomplice to be vindicated no matter the competence of their lawyer.

Source had reliably learnt that attachments detailing how Farouk Lawan collected the bribe monies secretly from both the House
Committee on Subsidy probe and his
subsequent plan to deceive investigators that he handed over the money to the chairman of the
Financial Crimes Committee for safe keeping were among the new charge files.

Police sources had revealed that even though it was difficult to recover the bribe money, there was enough evidence to nail Farouk and his cohorts.

Investigation by source further reveals that despite his several promises to return the bribe sum to the investigators, Farouk Lawan never fulfiled his promises, and the police investigators had decided to pass its recommendation to AGF
without the bribe sum. (Dailypost)
