Anton Ferdinand has reportedly started dating ex-Coronation Street
star Nikki Sanderson.
The Manchester-based actress, 28, even helped the QPR defender through the torment of John Terry's recent trial.
Then when Anton, 27, jetted off to Asia for his club's pre-season tour, things really started to heat up between them.
"Nikki and Anton have been getting close for a few months," said source.
"They've been flirting over Twitter and he's been up North to visit her.
"He was texting her non-stop while he was away and couldn't wait to get home to see her.
"She's really sweet and has helped take his mind off all the other stuff going on in his life.
"It seems to be getting quite serious quite quickly. "When he came back from his tour a few weeks ago he went up to Manchester to visit her."
The source added that Anton saw her stage play-Fetish Knights Re:Bound - and was "whooping and cheering" in the audience.
