A five-star hotel in south China's Hainan province was Saturday fined 618,000 yuan (around $97,000) after 141 people fell ill after having breakfast there, officials said.
The Sanya City Food and Drug Administration also confiscated materials used to make the food, Xinhua reported.
The 141 vacationers were sent to hospital after they fell ill following breakfast at the Howard Johnson Hotel last Sunday.
