A young housewife was forced to kill her father-in-law when he tried to rape her while her husband and other members of the family were away from home in the small town of Bokaro. This was not the first time he had tried to sexually abuse her.
The 30-year-old woman told The Times of India that this
was the third time he attempted to rape her.
On the day the incident occurred, the victim had sent the woman's husband to the family village on an errand. The woman was left alone with her father-in-law.
Finding her alone and with no help forthcoming, he tried to rape her.
She escaped from the kitchen and stabbed him repeatedly and fled to her father's place in another town.
Once she reached the safety of her own home, she informed her husband about the incident.
By the time the police were summoned, the body of the victim had decomposed. The knife that was used to murder the old man was recovered from the scene of the crime.
The woman also received injuries on her face but police are trying to determine whether she injured herself during a scuffle with her father-in-law or at a different point of time.
