Arsenal target Luiz Gustavo has declared the Gunners' storied history would make the club a favoured destination should he head to England.
The Brazilian midfielder has been on Arsene Wenger's radar throughout the off-season, and the London club are believed to be prepared to part with £14 million for the Bayern Munich man.
Napoli are also in mix for the 26-year-old's services, but Gustavo told ESPN Brasil that he would relish a move to north London.
"The Premier League is a great competition," he said.
"Arsenal have a lot of tradition. I need a team that has space to play.
"It's a delicate situation. I'm looking for the best option, the best decision."
Gustavo is in Basel for Brazil's friendly against Switzerland, and said playing regular first-team football is essential to keep himself at the forefront of calculations for next year's World Cup in his home country.
"My contract with Bayern runs until 2015 but it is very important that I play first-team football to keep getting called up for Brazil," he said.
"I have personal and professional reasons to move.
""I have heard about the Arsenal interest. It's a big club we're talking about here so of course I'd like to play for them."
